Hello, I'm Emily!
My name is Emily Xin Rui Lim, and I am passionate about teaching and communicating science.
About Me
I hold a BSc in Biopharmaceutical Science from Dundalk Institute of Technology, Ireland, where my interest in ion channel physiology first began during the Summer Undergraduate Research Program. This experience inspired me to pursue a PhD jointly between Dundalk Institute of Technology and Dublin City University, focusing on ion channel physiology.
Following my doctoral studies, I joined the University of Vermont as a postdoctoral associate, where I continue to explore the mechanisms of ion channel function in the brain.Throughout my academic journey, I have mentored several undergraduate students, guiding them through research projects, theses, and proposals with detailed feedback and individualized support.
In addition, I am fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Malay and offer language lessons for learners at different proficiency levels.
My goal as a tutor and editor is to make complex scientific concepts clear, engaging, and relevant, and learning languages fun.
